Heroines of Opera

  • The Flea Theater 20 Thomas Street New York, NY 10007 (map)

Join us for an intimate evening at The Flea Theater that will feature a preview of The Rape of Lucretia with a presentation by director, Bea Goodwin, who will discuss her vision for the upcoming production.

The evening will also include works representing the strongest female characters in the operatic world. It will also feature a preview of our upcoming May 3rd concert, Leading Ladies Liberated, which will present the lives and works of three iconic opera divas who influenced the genre as we know it today. This concert will be produced in collaboration with A Modern Reveal, an initiative promoting the songs and stories of overlooked women composers.

The showcase will feature performances from Erik Bagger, Allison Gish, Stan Lacy, Nicole Leone, Barbara Porto, Alexa Smith, Mithuna Sivaraman and Eva Parr. Brian Holman will accompany the singers.

Join us for a delightful open bar, hors d'oeuvres, a meet & greet with the artists and a special raffle which will be announced at the event.
